Safe & Sound message from Rocky View County

This is a Safe & Sound message from Rocky View County.

Several communities in Alberta have recently seen fraudulent fundraising activities.  Criminals have been calling and pretending to raise money on behalf of fire departments and other emergency service-related activities.

Please note that Rocky View County’s fire, police, enforcement, and emergency services are funded through your property taxes and grants from other levels of government.  The County does not engage people to phone or go door-to-door to seek donations from the public or business community.

If you receive a phone call asking for donations on behalf of any emergency service, hang up and call the RCMP non-emergency number for your area to report the incident.  Those RCMP numbers are:

  • Western Rocky View County (including Bearspaw, Springbank, Elbow Valley, Bragg Creek, and Cochrane Lake): 403-851-8000
  • North Central Rocky View County (including Madden and Balzac): 403-945-7200
  • Northeast Rocky View County (including Katheryn and Keoma): 403-947-3420
  • Southeast Rocky View County (including Conrich, Indus, and Langdon): 403-934-3968
